Will it work if I spend money over my available balance, but have enough on current?

My Balance in my account is at $400 something, while my available balance is only at $80 something.

If I bought a camera online right now, that's worth $380, would they just get the money from the current balance to cover it? I don't want to over withdrawl or something....|||Your available balance is how much you have left after everything you've already charged is taken out. So if you go over that, something will not get paid for. (Or more likely, it will get paid for, but you'll have some serious overdrawn account charges that will make that camera extremely expensive. Typically at least $20 per transaction over your account.) It all depends on who charges what first.

Go with the available balance on how much you can spend. Better yet, balance your checkbook so you know how much you have regardless of what the available and current say on the monitor.|||I wouldn't go over ur available balance. It takes a while for debits and credits to get into the bank, but they keep track of them for you until the transactions are complete. Thats what your available balance is, the money you have left after you spent the rest. If you bought something with that money i would suggest putting it back in tomorrow. Or risk an over withdrawal charge.|||You account balance may not reflect recent purchases, bills or automatic drafts that are in the process of being paid. If you account balance says that you have 400 and an available balance of 80 it may mean that there is 320 worth of activity that hasn't posted to your account yet.
